Firmcraft does not assume what your devices measure. Temperature probes, energy meters, PLCs, pumps and trackers all arrive as named metrics that you choose, so the same platform works for a cold room, a factory line or a solar site.
Device connectivity

Bring your own payload format
You should not have to re-flash a fleet to match a platform’s format. With Firmcraft you map fields in your existing JSON payload to metric names in the dashboard, for example telemetry.temp to temperature, and the platform does the rest. Metrics are stored as a flexible set, so a new sensor type needs no schema change.
Industrial equipment
Meters, PLCs and machines that speak Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP connect through an industrial gateway such as the Firmcraft MOD-IoT Gateway, which reads the registers and forwards them as telemetry.

Firmware updates
Upload firmware once and roll it out to selected devices with over-the-air (OTA) deployments, then track each device’s update status from the dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to change my device firmware to use Firmcraft?
Usually not. If your device already sends JSON over MQTT or HTTPS, you map its fields to metric names in the dashboard instead of changing the payload.
Can I connect Modbus devices?
Yes, through a gateway. An industrial gateway such as the MOD-IoT Gateway reads Modbus RTU or TCP registers and forwards them to Firmcraft as telemetry.
